Alternative pathways program

​​​​The Head Of Department Senior School provides information relating to a range of alternative educational pathways and support for students. 

This is done on an individual basis with the view of successfully transitioning students into approved options within the Compulsory and Compulsory Participation Phases of Learning.  These may include:

  • Certificate courses at TAFE and Private Registered Training Organisation courses
  • Identification of possible funding support for certificate courses
  • Curriculum that can only be accessed through one of the state's schools of Distance Education (SDE) or Virtual Schooling Services (VSS)
  • Provision of Work Experience and Structured Work Placement
  • School-Based Traineeship and Apprenticeship  opportunities
  • QCE enrichment and other recognised studies
  • Learning Projects
  • Exemptions/Flexible arrangements
  • Queensland Core Skills Testing
  • Employment Options
  • Others as deemed appropriate for the individual
