Primary Campus Library
Our library is resourced to positively impact learning across the Australian Curriculum for higher student achievement. Resources are purposely selected to promote reading, encourage student independence, improve information literacy skills and navigate the internet safely. It also caters for the varied personal interests of the whole school community. Inside our wonderful library's vibrant learning spaces, we aim to develop in all students and staff an inherent love of literacy.
Hours
The library is open from 8.30 am until 4.00pm every school day. It is also open during first break.
Borrowing
All students are allowed to borrow two fiction and one non-fiction book.
Books may be exchanged as often as required during weekly borrowing sessions, first lunch breaks, and before and after school. All students require a waterproof bag to keep their books protected. The college sells a library backpack bag that gets cited on all booklists. As an alternative, strong plastic bags are permitted. Compensation will be sought for books lost or damaged beyond repair.
Returns
Returned resources are to be placed in the Returns Box at the entrance of the Library.
Secondary Campus Library
The Secondary resource centre plays a key role in the enrichment and support of the teaching and learning programs at our College.
We aim to:
assist students to become independent learners, informed decision makers and effective communicators
provide a wide range of relevant resources, services and technologies
promote a reading culture in the college through the judicious selection of resources and activities aimed at developing a lifelong appreciation of reading.
Staff and students are able to access an extensive, up to date fiction collection as well as non-fiction and reference materials in both print and electronic formats. We subscribe to a variety of magazines both for academic and leisure reading. Curriculum based resources in a variety of formats are available to support teaching and learning in all areas.
