Chancellor State College's Football/Futsal Academy is committed to providing students the opportunity to pursue their interest, knowledge and skills in football and futsal. Our goal is to provide students with a genuine career pathway by allowing students to develop their games skills and participate in all facets of football and futsal, from administration to team management.
Course organisation
The Football/Futsal Development Program is designed for Year 7 to Year 12 students and is open to both boys and girls. The program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop their football skills and to use the study of Football to improve their academic opportunities and provide pathways to tertiary study.
Students accepted into the program will have the opportunity to participate in a range of learning experiences from our experienced staff and sessions from guest coaches. Curriculum opportunities include:
Year 7–8 attend two seventy-minute lessons per week within the timetable. The focus of these lessons is on skill acquisition and game training.
Year 9–10 attend two or three seventy-minute lessons per week within the timetable. The focus of this class is on transitioning in training games, positioning games and 1-4-3-3 formation.
Year 11–12 have a dedicated program.
Costs
The Football/Futsal Academy current fee structure is available upon request. Course costs include all coaching, lectures and courses. Chancellor State College is a government school and therefore, academic tuition for domestic students attracts a standard resource charge and additional levies as per individual subject areas. All excursions and extra-curricular activities incur an additional charge.
Selection procedure
To be accepted into the Football/Futsal Academy, applicants must demonstrate certain qualities and levels of performance. They must demonstrate:
Proven football/futsal skills and ability, and a commitment to improve and promote the game within the community;
Academic standards that reflect genuine effort; and,
A high standard of attitude and behaviour.
Entry into the program is selective and very competitive. Only a limited number of positions are offered. Selection trials are held throughout the year for current Year 7–10 students. Prospective Year 7 students (2023) are invited to two trial dates being held in May and August 2022. These dates are advertised on the application form.
