ELO Futures Programs and Year 9 Electives

These Enhanced Learning Opportunity (ELO) and elective programs are all designed for independently motivated and dedicated students. Their purpose is to offer students the opportunity to work on individual projects or develop skills in sport and languages further.

Students selecting these ELOs will be asked to participate in an application process that may involve tryouts and interviews. Parents are encouraged to discuss these ELO options with the appropriate Head of Academy.

Students may also be invited (through teacher nomination to the Head Of Department) to join one of these ELOs due to a particular strength they may have demonstrated in their studies. Invitations need not be accepted by the student.

Futures Programs include:

  • Elev8  (6 months course)

Students participate in a negotiated curriculum focussing on an individual area of interest. The developed programs can be from a range of areas and will be supported by school and industry mentors where possible.

Students who select this option are highly independent, responsible, resourceful and focussed. High levels of behaviour will be expected at all times in both this ELO and regular classes.

Special Considerations: An interview process may be conducted with the applicant and their parents. References from past/current teachers may be required along with academic reports.

Please view information on this site, or contact the College directly.

  • Year 7 Music Immersion Program

The Music Immersion Program will cater for students who are currently engaged in music learning, have a passion for music and are interested in accelerating their musicianship skills.  The Music Immersion Program is highly recommended for those Year 6 students who:

  • create music using software and technology (FL Studio, Garage Band, Logic, Abelton).
The Music Immersion Program is considered an ELO (Enhanced Learning Option). Participation in this program will ensure students have the necessary skills to continue studying music in future years. Music Immersion aims to develop students':
  • rehearsal and practising strategies for solo and small ensemble performances,
  • ability to create, compose and record music using technology and/or real instruments/voice,
