Student Expectations – Online Learning

While you may not be physically attending school, our expectations of you are the same while classes are offered – no matter where you are engaging in your learning.

  • Be ready to learn and continue your educational journey
  • Read any instructions from your teachers carefully. Keep your work organised – save files carefully if you are working on them
  • Establish a routine as soon as you can
  • Set-up a space where you will do your learning each day. Be sure your device is charged and ready for the day and that you have all equipment ready
  • Use unit/weekly overviews to track your progress. Keep a learning journal and tick off tasks or learning goals when you believe you have completed them, then seek feedback
  • Be a good Digital Citizen; treat others with respect, kindness and consideration
  • If you are not able to complete the designated tasks for day/week, please communicate this with your parent/caregiver and your teacher
  • Ensure that you don't post any personal details or those belonging to others online in any forum
  • Respect content shared with you by your teachers and peers; do not share outside of your designated classroom digital space, even within our College
  • Don't expect instant responses from teachers, they are managing the same number of students that they would have timetabled into their classes
  • If you experience any negative behaviour online, please inform your teacher

Remember, even though you are studying from home, these important ways of working still apply:

  • Email etiquette
  • Safe searching
  • Stay safe – digital footprint
  • College Plagiarism policy
  • Take care of yourself – ergonomics
