​​​​The role of the YSC is to

  • Provide prevention and early intervention services to support students aged between 12 and 18 years at risk of disengaging from the education system
  • Provide individual assistance to students in areas of concern (i.e. family, social, personal) that might impact on their school attendance
  • Deliver group and community work that provide links between young people, schools, families, non-government and government services and general community members

Appointments and Referrals

  • Students can self refer.
  • Most cases are referred by staff members via the Student and Staff Welfare team.
  • Parents or carers can also refer.
  • Referrals can be made directly to the YSC or by filling in a referral form available from the Student and Staff Welfare team
  • Involvement in the program is voluntary.
