Senior curriculum

The senior curriculum is organised into faculties:

  • English
  • Humanities
  • Global Schooling (Languages)
  • Maths
  • Science
  • The Arts
  • Technologies 
  • Enterprise and Innovation (Business, IT)
  • Health and Performance (Health, Phys. Ed, Sport)

This organisation reflects the topics of study, modes of delivery and processes of learning that are adopted to connect our students with their chosen learning pathways. Additionally students can elect to undertake Alternate Learning Options that allow the student to work with our community partners to individualise their senior program.

Academic good standing policy

At the core of the operations of Chancellor State College is the academic good standing, assessment and special considerations policy in the Senior School.

Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) 

The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority provides P to 12 syllabuses, assessment, reporting, testing, accreditation and certification services for Queensland schools.     

Alternate Learning Options

Alternate Learning Options offer flexibility in how senior students access learning opportunities. The Wednesday program has been designed to include a time allocation for students and their individually organised ALO's.

ALO's that students are undertaking include:

  • Traineeships / Apprenticeships / Work Placement
  • Individual sports training
  • Music Tuition
  • Dance Tuition
  • Virtual Schooling
  • HEADSTART program
  • USC Library (Student directed learning – quiet independent work with access to USC resources)
  • ICT Courses
  • Work
  • Study at Home

Other ALOs could include:

  • TAFE and Private Training Courses
  • Community Projects
  • Structured Workplace Learning

These options must be negotiated with the College. Contact the Administration if you want further information about this program.
