See here for a general introduction to our community, the Parents and Citizens and School Council groups.

While there is an identifiable Chancellor community, our school community extends beyond the boundaries of our geographical location. This includes the Buderim area and surrounds, and North and South along the Bruce Highway. The transience in the community is related to broader economic trends. The majority of people are newcomers to the area and have been here for four years or less. This impacts on the stability of the school community. Community events are well supported and reflect the community commitment to developing a community identity.

Social, economic and cultural opportunities are reliant on trends in the wider Sunshine Coast Community. There are limited facilities within the Chancellor area itself. The school is playing an active role in supporting the development of community facilities and identity.

The P&C were active in obtaining funds for a Community facility built in the school grounds in 2002.

Parent and volunteer involvement in classroom, enrichment, sporting and other school activities is actively encouraged, further cementing the positive relationship between the school and wider community.

Parents and teachers share the responsibility for the education of their children. This vital partnership is enhanced by open communication channels between school and home, an ‘open door’ policy and welcoming parents as important participants in learning activities.

An active Parents and Citizens’ Association is in operation. The P&C runs its term from March to March. Membership is open to all community members over the age of 18 years. The executive consists of the President, 2 Vice-Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer, and the Principal as ex-officio. There are a number of P&C sub-committees including Preschool, Canteen, Grounds, Uniforms and Before/After School Hours Care, Hall Management.

The Chancellor School Council represents staff, administration, P&C and the wider community, and oversees and monitors the school’s strategic direction.

Our current enrolments (as at 16 April 2008) are: 793 students in the Primary School (P - Year 6), and 1129 students in the Secondary School (Years7-12).
